Hello sweet girls, I hope you had a great weekend! We enjoyed our extra day with the kids on Monday. They had off school for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and we decided to go downtown and let them paint some pottery. I forgot how much fun that could be! It's been years since I've done it. The girls liked it so much that we decided(pretty sure anyway) that we'd have their upcoming birthday party there! I thought it would be something a little different than one at our house like most years. Anyway, what's this have to do with with the lovelies up here? Well...

Just before we arrived I convinced my family I
needed to make a pit-stop at an antique store... a three story antique store. Hubby said fifteen minutes to get in and get out. I knew how particularly hard because the man that runs the shop loves, I do mean loves to talk. So, as soon as I walked in I said my hello and said that I had fifteen minutes and that my husband and kids are out in the car waiting for me. Being the sweetheart he is, he went into the back room and came out with a box of cookies to take outside to the kids... he loves to talk to them as much as he likes to talk to me. Perfect! So, three stories and fifteen minutes later I walked out with a big ol' bag of treasures and plenty that didn't fit into a bag. Two pretty hats I purchased for the velvety flowers. I'm in love with the silhouettes they were set.... I think I'll hang them in my newly painted office. And, I couldn't pass up the big heart candy box for nine dollars. When I took it up to the cash register, the cashier told me he just cleaned out a house and threw about six of the old hearts away. I about cried then I told him there are some on ebay for $125. He about cried, then.

These hangers I debated on the last time I was there in October. They were still there so I had to get them. Don't they remind you of rainbow sherbet? I think I will start a new collection... old hangers. Gives me something to look for when I'm out. Maybe I could have an entire closet full to hang my clothes on. I guess, that would be years from now though.

I love the old graphics on the box and the colors too! That's a big frame I couldn't pass up. They practically gave it to me!

Oh, yes, I almost forgot this pedestal was a steal with it's iron legs... already white... I am not sure what I'm going to with it yet, but, I couldn't let it sit there. Gosh, all this in fifteen minutes... I wonder what damage I would have done with twenty five minutes?
You did fabulous in your 15 mins...I felt like that at market only it was "lets see...$3,000 in 2 hours per shop!" now that's some serious damage in 3 days!

Sometimes those quick trips are the best, because you are forced to make a snap decision and just BUY it instead of thinking about it and possibly walking away!

Wow! You always have the most lovely finds to share with us! What a sweet store owner to take cookies out to your kids, and I love your heart box. When I was younger, one year I so badly wanted a heart shaped box of chocolates for Valentine's Day. A friend of my parents had her husband buy one to give to me. I still have it, and think with fond memories of the sweet couple that made my Valentine's wish come true!

Oh, vintage candy boxes are pulling at my heart lately. I haven't snatched one as of yet and am sad to hear that your friend at the shop left some behind. Yours was a great buy. Come for a visit. I'm having a giveaway.
