A few weeks ago, I decided that the heart shaped chocolate box that had been collecting dust on the shelves of my studio for some time now, was in need some of some love(ironic, I know considering it is a heart). I glued the cover of some old sheet music with lovely font onto the lid of the heart. I should mention this heart originally had hideous navy blue velvet on, not luxurious soft velvet, more of a flocking. And, not the flocking of pretty vintage wallpaper either! Good chocolates, bad velvet.
Anyway, after I glued it the cover of the sheet music, I decided I did not like it. I tried to pull it
off. That does not work too well on eighty year old paper. So I left it and instead, love the torn look it now has.
I added some vintage and new velvet leaves and vintage millinery, dusted with some glass glitter(that has already tarnished...love that!), a nice big buckle, ribbon and some crepe paper trim along with velvet ribbon on the sides.
I had originally planned to share this heart with you last week. But, my camera broke and I just finally got a new one. I am playing around with it a little. It's very different from my last. I don't necessarily like change either. I can quickly become a creature of habit and tend to get stuck in my ways.
Other news, Thursday is girls day out with some fellow bloggers! We'll be headed to the flea hoping to find treasure.
Oooooooh! That is sooooo pretty! I love the old sheet music...and the way it's torn. Beautiful! I've got to find me a heart box!
