Recently, we repainted our girls bathroom and I decided to re-do the shadow box that had been hanging also. I went for a vintage seashore vibe in the bathroom. So, anything that reminded me of the sea or boardwalk went into the room. Here's "Sue", a vintage paper doll that reminds me of my youngest daughter. It's those curly locks, big doe eyes and chubby cheeks! I surrounded her with a very long vintage shell necklace and a left over trophy favor from my girls birthday party, it reminded me of something you could win a boardwalk arcade.
Here's the box in it's entirety. I plan to put some photos of the girls at the beach. Just as soon as I get them printed.
This plate is a miniature, about one inch in circumference. It's from my great grandmother, her and my great grandfather frequented Atlantic City in the 1940's. It found a perfect home in this shadowbox, where it can be showcased!
Tore from a salt water taffy box I happened to have around the house.....
I glittered a large seahorse charm. Of course, a tiny dancer always makes it a little extra girlie, a pink sea urchin doesn't hurt either!
On Sunday, we spent the day at the beach. Here's my favorite little sun god(looking a little flushed), taking it all in.(He happened to turn one on the fifth and began walking yesterday! He's now been teeter- tottering around the house non stop! Look out world!) He adored the beach! I was hesitant to bring him, but he was the one that could have stayed the longest!
I love your new shadowbox and the little guy is toooo cute!
