This was not the post I had planned to share with you for Vintage Christmas Monday. However, it's ugly here and I can't take any new photos. I guess my "Saints and Snow" post will have to wait 'til another day. This should be my last and final wreath of the season to share with you. I do have a few more for Christmas, but I'll save them for next year, so, I don't bore you with them, now. I knew I wanted to make a card wreath for the holidays. I absolutely love the simplicity of them. But, so many of the cards I receive are red and green. You already know they really are not my colors. So, I had and idea to use vintage holy cards. I have some tucked into some of my garlands, as well.... seems I've made somewhat of a "theme" from religious as Christmas decor this year. These came in my colors and the images are beautiful... perfect for Christmas and for celebrating what this holiday is truly about.
These are copies I have made from my small stash, but most I found online. I printed them on card stock(if I was to do this again, I think I would adhere the card stock to some paperboard for extra strength...) I added mica, which helped it look a little more Christmas like and then glued all of them to a ribbon wrapped styrofoam wreath form. I do have a slight predicament though and need your help, if you would'nt mind, that is! I made the wreath above right before Silver Bella and have had it hanging on a door in my kitchen and loved it there, ever since. However, while finishing up the tail end of decorating last week, I looked at the extra wreath I already had spray painted off white and thought of applying the same"nesting" concept of the smaller, holy card into the larger white pine one....

I really do like the look of this, as well. It does make a bigger statement and fills much more room on a bare door. But, it also looses the simplicity of the card wreath, that I loved.

What's a girl to do?
What a stunning wreath and a beautiful idea... love the vintage holy cards... Bisous... Julie Marie

OH MY GOODNESS! What a great idea! I have some holy cards tucked away that my mother saved from my childhood. I went to a Catholic school and we would "trade" holy cards at recess or during Mass! Wow, what a trip down memory lane! I thought that I was the only one who still had holy cards. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful idea.

Oh my goodness, they're both so beautiful!! And what a unique idea for a wreath too. That second wreath is really outstanding. I keep scrolling back to look at it as I type this, because I can't get over the beauty of it! Stunning!
Happy VCM!

What a great idea! I love the pretty pastel holy cards and they look great with the mica snow! The wreath looks great alone, but I really love it with the larger one, too! I vote to add it to the larger one.

So pretty Gabrielle! That's a tough question...it looks nice both ways. It's lovely inside the pine wreath, but does it cover up any of the baubles and pretty things you have on there? If not, I vote to stack it!
