Roll up, roll up! Ladies and gentlemen!
The cutest ringmaster and birthday boy.... who happened to just wake from his nap and isn't so sure about the arriving guests. He comes complete with lipstick on his cheek!
Help yourself to some popcorn....
perhaps a grape kabob.....
The lions are tame and with smiling faces too!
Cupcakes with bowling pin toppers for all the little clowns to juggle! My little guy is a chocolate lover!
"I've been looking at these for far too long now, let's get to the good pat!!"
Make a wish!
Finger licking good!
There's fun to be had outside of the big top! Big sis knows how to get a party started!
I have to be honest, I was rather reluctant to throw a circus themed party, so I really procrastinated with the decorations. My heart and mind was set on a Pinocchio theme(there was just not enough time to get everything ready for that) but when I came across this pattern paper in my scrapbook paper stash, I loved that it's an understated circus print. No bright red stripes or crazy clowns in sight!
After I cleared out the majority of the pink and fluff in the dining room, I strung the paper pennants up to give the dining room a big top feel.
I gathered a few things from my little guy's room to use as party decorations.(Took this picture the morning of the party before the cupcakes were made and everything was in place)
Nothing expensive, complex or extravagant here.
Festivity with the flick of a switch! Simple!
And he's off in a blurry hurry. Him and his fat little piggies!
Gabrielle.
What a beautiful, beautiful post! It is just enchanting. That is the best word I can find. Your decorations are so charming and your kids are adorable. You really captured your son and his different moods. You look wonderful...what a great dress!
Thanks a ton for sharing this!!!
Hugs,
Suz

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Gabrielle, you are AMAZING!! It's even so much more beautiful than I imagined!
Ok, this is what I love about it, although a circus-theme, which is usually full of bright colors and crazy patterns, you seemed to combine it with a subtle soft look. Instead of -in-your-face whacky clowns, you have that gorgeous ferris wheel and balloons. Instead of run-of-the-mill decorations, you've got the banners and grape ka-bobs!
I'll bet your kids loved it! Someday they'll realize how much time, energy, and love you put into your parties. And you know what? I'll bet they do the same for their kids.
Absolutely love this and am glad you decided to do it. Now you've got ALL year to savor the Pinocchio theme party and decide what to do. Oh, the fun you'll have with that!
Congratulations on a job well-done!
